A web browser app called Skyfire was submitted for review to Apple today. The browser packs built-in flash compatibility, something that Apple has refused to include in their own Safari. While the Flash is limited to just movies, not interactive content and games, it does open up new possibilities for viewing content that can’t be viewed any other way on an iOS device.
Apple showed us two new Apple commercials at yesterday’s special music event, one for the new iPod nano and one for the new iPod touch (nothing for the new iPod shuffle yet). These ads are now airing across the world.
The fourth generation iPod Touch is expected to be announced or launched at this years annual Apple music media event. Rumor has it that the new iPod touch will be the same size and will look almost the same, but it will have two cameras and a retina display.
A new tweak on the Cydia Store called Infinifolders allows users to add more than 12 apps to a single folder in iOS 4. The tweak works by allowing users to drag more apps to a folder that is already full based on Apple’s limitations and then allows users to scroll in folders, to see the added apps.
Skype has updated their app to support the iOS 4 multitasking feature. This means that when you leave the Skype app, you can now still receive calls and instant messages. You can also use other app while in a call, just like regular calling. This brings a lot more functionality to the app.
We previously reported that FaceTime is likely to appear on the next generation iPod touch. As previously noted FaceTime on these non-iPhone devices would be based on email addresses, but more details have now surfaced.
