Apple appears to be working on a version of iWork compatible with iPhone and iPod touch. Previously, Apple released iWork apps for iPad when the device launched. The apps were Pages for word processing, Keynote for presentations, and Numbers for spreadsheets, all similar to the application for Mac OSX.

Apple just announced the app design awards for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. While the awards had their roots in Mac applications and expanded to included iPhone OS applications in recent years, WWDC 2010 saw Apple at least temporarily do away with its Mac categories to focus on iPhone and iPad applications, which have been the primary focus of the entire conference this year.

Today, at Apple’s 4.0 media event, they announced that firmware 4.0 will bring a better mail app to iPhone OS. This update to the mail app will include a unified mailbox similar to that of Mail on Mac. A unified mailbox is where all messages from all your different accounts, show up all in one place. Also introduced was threaded conversation, multiple Exchange accounts (hello Exchange + Google Sync), and fast inbox switching.
