Game Center Officially Cut From iPhone 3G

Apple kindly deleted all Game Center usernames this morning without warning, so developers will have to chase down there id’s before they are taken. They also clarify which devices will be able to use the Game Center when it’s launched with iOS 4.1 and the iPhone 3G isn’t one of them.

Slow iPhone 3G On iOS 4, There’s an Update On The Way

While Steve Jobs found it inappropriate for customers to share their “intimate” emails with him, customers have continued to do just that. In the latest email circling around the web Jobs addresses the slow iPhone 3G with iOS 4 problem and states that Apple is working on an update that will speed up iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G.

Apple has just released iOS 4.0.1 (8A306) for the iPhone 4, 3GS, and 3G and iOS 3.2.1 for iPad. The update for iPhone, of course fixes the way that signal bars are displayed. The iPad updates biggest change, is that Wi-Fi issues have been resolved.

Steve Jobs on Lack of Custom Wallpapers in iOS 4 for iPhone 3G

As has been widely discussed, while the iPhone 3G and second-generation iPod touch are compatible with Apple’s iOS 4 released yesterday, they do not support all of the features of the updating operating system. Multitasking has been the highest-profile feature unsupported by these older devices, but Apple has also noted three other unsupported features: Bluetooth keyboard support, home screen wallpapers, and data protection.
