Head of iPhone Hardware, Mark Papermaster Fired?!?

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Device Hardware Engineering, Mark Papermaster has left Apple. Where Papaermaster was head of iPhone harware, rumor has it that he was fired due to the antennagate saga. Bob Mansfield, senior vice president of Macintosh hardware engineering, is assuming his responsibilities.

Apple Officially Responds to iPhone 4 Signal Issues

Apple has publicly posted a letter addressing the iPhone 4 signal drop issues. Apple claims the problem is software based, where the way the signal bars are displayed make the signal drop appear greater than it actually is. Apple wil be releasing a software update for the iPhone 4 soon.

Another iPod Touch Leak

We previously reported that an iPod Touch prototype with a camera, was posted to eBay. Rumor remains that Apple was planning to release the iPod Touch with a 2 MP camera last year, along side the new iPod Nano with a camera, but removed the camera at the last minute. The reason thy removed the camera is likely to lack of hardware quality or some other technical issue.

Apple to Replace Complete iPad for $99 if Battery Fails

According to Apple’s web site, If your iPad battery fails Apple doesn’t want to bother opening the device to replace it — they would rather ship you a completely new (no word on whether it’s a refurb?) iPad to replace the faulty one within a weeks time period. Of course there is a fee involved – $99, plus $6.95 shipping.
