With firmware 3.1.3 came some seriously bad news for jailbreakers. Basically the whole idea behind the firmware was for Apple to take another step towards ending jailbreaking. The iPhone Dev-Team was quick to jump on this firmware as usual and has come out with a jailbreaking solution for some devices. This jailbreaking solution is the Pwnage Tool for 3.1.3. This tool is only for Mac, but a windows solution would be Sn0w Breeze.
Today at 10:30am PST Apple released firmware 3.1.3 (7E18) for all of their devices but the first generation iPhone.
The iPhone Dev Team has recently released a beta version of the latest RedSn0w program. RedSn0w is a popular program for Mac and Windows to jailbreak and unlock iPhone and iPod Touch. The latest version will allow this and more customization for firmware 3.0/3.1.2. The software works with all devices with an exception of the latest iPod Touch generation, this will become available in the final release.
The iPhone Dev team has announce that the 3.1 tools will come in two sets where the first came today. Today they released the Pwnage tool for 3.1. We have just received news from the iPhone dev team that 3.0.1 is safe and ready to jailbreak and unlock. Apple only fixes the SMS bug and makes no other changes making it completely safe to update with iTunes.
