Apple has just released the third preview version of Xcode 4, a code writing software used for developing parts of apps (and other things, like websites and Dashboard widgets). New features include a new activity interface for developers as well as a completely fresh user-interface for the new code completion technologies in Xcode 4. Some bug fixes were also tossed into this update.

A new Apple iPad ad has hit the air: “iPad Is Delicious”. The ad runs through serveral apps for iPad that make the iPad delicious, current, learning, playful, literary, artful, friendly, productive, scientific, and of course magical. Although the most recent iPhone ads have moved away from focusing on apps but rather features (particularly FaceTime), Apple continues focusing the Ipad ads on it’s apps.

Today, Apple added a new category to the App Store, following last weeks “Try Before You Buy” section. Apple’s new “Apps to Impress your Friends” section may seem like an innocent attempt to help you show off out front of your friends, but it’s obviously an attempt increase sales of iOS devices. The section features Siri Assistant, Ocarina, Red Laser, Bump, and Apple’s own iMovie.

A new addition to iAds allows developers to sell their Apps directly from iAds, bypassing the App Store altogether. The ad is basically the equivalent of an App Store page. An added bonus: Developers can use the money/credit they earn in iAds to promote their apps in this way. This also helps Apple fill iAds ad slots, which we’ve been hearing are seeing low fill rates.
