The new 4th generation iPod shuffle hit the shelves today. The iPod shuffle is pretty straightforward and comes with just the unit, a pair of headphones (without the controls), a sync/charging cable, and information. The tiny device brings back the buttons of the old and packs Voice Over. Your new iPod shuffle will require you to update to the latest version of iTunes (10.0), before you can sync it.

One interesting feature of the new iPod touch that Steve Job failed to mention is that it can vibrate. This can be useful for receiving notifications virtually silently, especially call notifications from VoIP apps. Apple markets the primary function of the vibrate function as a way to notify you about FaceTeime calls.

Apple announced a new iPod touch today that brings a lot of the new features in the iPhone 4 to the iPod touch. The new iPod touch features a retina display, the Apple A4 chip, a 3-Axis Gyroscope, a front facing camera (and FaceTime), and an HD video camera with a built-in microphone on the back. Impressively the new iPod touch is even thinner than the previous model, with all these features.
