At Apple’s special music event Steve Jobs announced that iOS 4.1 will be available for free download next week. The iOS 4.1 update will be for iPhone and iPod touch.
While Steve Jobs found it inappropriate for customers to share their “intimate” emails with him, customers have continued to do just that. In the latest email circling around the web Jobs addresses the slow iPhone 3G with iOS 4 problem and states that Apple is working on an update that will speed up iOS 4 on the iPhone 3G.
It’s rumored that a Verizon iPhone will launch this coming January. Initially it was thought that Apple would redesign the flawed antenna for this model of the iPhone. More recently it’s been determined that Apple wouldn’t have enough time to design and test a new antenna for this iPhone, according to a report.
Rumor has it that Apple currently has CDMA iPhone in field testing. CDMA is the type of network that Verizon uses, different than that of AT&T (GSM). The rumor of the iPhone coming to Verizon would require new hardware.
Apple has just release iOS 4.0.2, which a security update to patch the PDF exploit used on jailbreakme.com. An iPad update, iOS 3.2.2 was also released to patch tis on the iPad. There are no other significant changes in the updates, although the firmware file is much larger.
A popular jailbreak application called Frash has updated with iPhone compatibility. The application used to be limited to use with jailbroken iPads, but has now expanded to the iPhone and iPod Touch. Frash allows you to view most types of flash content on your mobile device.
