Apple will be holding their annual music media event on September 1, 2010, where they are expected to announce a new line of iPods. Popular rumor suggests the next generation iPod touch will have a camera and that a new smaller touch screen device will be announced, possibly a new iPod nano with a touch screen.

A new case for iPod Touch called the Apple Peel 520 has emerged, working as an adaptor to allow a sim card to be used with the iPod Touch. Currently the iPod Touch is limited to just VoIP calls, but this case turns the iPod Touch into a real phone that could make calls from anywhere. Of course you will also be able to send SMS messages over the SIM card and possibly even use cellular data.

Apple launched their free case program for iPhone 4 owners last week. The goal of the program is to improve the overall call drop rates of the iPhone 4. Apple launched an app last Friday that allowed iPhone 4 owners to redeem their free case. Some customers were notified that they will be receiving their case this week, but others won’t have their cases shipped until early October.
