AT&T has announced that their network will finally be ready months after other carriers have been supporting MMS on the iPhone. They say that MMS will be ready to go on September 25, 2009. The MMS capabilities will be built in with the 3.1 firmware update that will be coming from Apple on that date.
We’ve been working for the past several months to prepare our systems and network to ensure the best possible experience with MMS when it launches – and that launch date is: September 25 for iPhone 3G and 3GS customers. MMS will be enabled through a software update on that day.
AT&T again points out that this will not be for iPhone Classic users even though everyone knows that the phone is fully capable of MMS. AT&T also stays true to their word that there will be no additional charges from the texting plan, you deserve it for free after waiting this long.
